I was proud to be part of this great film, but what a need for these oral histories disappearing so fast!

Dear Neighbors,

Tolman High School, once known as Pawtucket East or Pawtucket High, had an elaborate monument for World War I veterans from the city who died.   When I was a student at Tolman in the middle 1970's, the monument stood in the center of the second floor study hall.

Since that time, the classrooms on the second floor had been subdivided.  The study hall was moved.  The plaque was lost or misplaced by the mid 1980's.

Whatever happened to the monument?  As of 1991, janitors at Tolman did not know the whereabouts of the gigantic plaque.

Well-that would be interesting to discover but am sure we have lots of that stuff in and around dusty storage.

It would be even more cool to have oral histories with the students involved so they could really live and breathe it and learn as many have few relatives who have that history to share.

We lose so much each day as veterans and others die and take those real historic memories with them and completely lost
