Involvement

Hello Huntington Ridge Homeowners,

Another year is coming to a close and the Huntington Ridge Homeowners Association is continuing to look for homeowners in Huntington Ridge with vision and desire to make a difference in our community. Each homeowner in our neighborhood has a vested interest in the continuing progress of our Association. Home values and individual neighborhood involvement go hand in hand in success or failure. I have spent 5 years developing ways for our neighborhood to better communicate through our own free website and front area mailbox and outside our neighborhood by hosting City officials attending neighborhood roundtable discussions and City election forums. Very few homeowners took the time to become involved and stay informed about our area or neighborhood association needs. We cannot blame outside forces for our own lack of vision and desire to make a difference in our neighborhood or for problems that may arise. During the past 3 years several new homeowners and past Board members have become involved and helped fill vacant offices. However, still less than a third of the homeowners even consider it important enough to join. Door-to-door involvement is needed, individual homeowners who have time to meet their neighbors during the day or evening and explain the importance of the Association?’s value to our neighborhood. We are going to need at least 2 new Board of Directors in 2007 and a new president. In many ways our Association over the past few years has developed an organizational base with an office, website and assets, but we must now, and quickly, develop membership involvement. We need involvement by other homeowners with time and vision to make this happen. You do not have to be present at the HRHA meetings to be involved, just make yourself available. I encourage anyone who is interested to contact us at huntingtonridge@hotmail.com or speak to a current officer or Board of Director. We will be discussing this matter at our November 14th monthly meeting and will be finalizing the ballots before the holidays. Every year very important decisions must be made in January and February regarding the pool opening and other Association business that requires the Board to now be in place and active early in the year.

To be a first class neighborhood and have an effective homeowner association, all homeowners must be engaged in the process. Please support us with your presence, involvement and membership in 2007.
