First Annual Zone 1 Neighborhood Picnic

The members of the Lawton Heights/Zone 1 Neighborhood Watch served 200 hotdogs at the First Annual Zone 1 Neighborhood Picnic on Saturday the 30th of May, at the H.C. King Center. Area residents ate hotdogs, chips and cupcakes from 11-2. The kids enjoyed games, balloon animals, rides in police cars with LPD Sentinels, and demonstrations by the LPD Bike Squad.

The Chief offered to let kids throw wet sponges at him ?— and graciously volunteered his officers, too.

Parents were eligible for door prizes provided by area businesses. Most of the food was donated by local businesses or made by area residents.

We are already making plans for the Second Annual Zone 1 Neighborhood Picnic.
