Lancaster Council of Neighborhoods

Does anyone know the exact restrictions for our neighborhood regarding decks and patios? Also, has anyone researched any local pavers for patios? I would love some suggestions.

Although I'm not in your development, I can offer this suggestion since I recently re-did my deck this past summer.  The first thing we did in this remodeling project was to have someone from the Association come out and tell us how far out (from the house) the deck was allowed to come (maybe you can find this distance in your association regulations).  Keep in mind that the distance we were told did not include the steps.  In other words, in our case, we could come out 14 feet from the house and "then" add the steps.  Now, as for what  your restrictions are, you will need to go to your local town hall and talk to a building inspector.  When we did that, the inspector handed us a document that outlined what you could and could not do.  This document included pictures and was "the" document that we had to follow when submitting our plans for the building permit.   I hope this helped.
