Lake Forest Neighborhood Association

First LFNA Meeting

Meeting in the dark.....

The Lake Forest Neighborhood Association meeting literally started off in the dark. Thanks to the local thunderstorm, electrical power went off a half-hour into the kickoff social. Presentations were made by Councilman Joe Hultquist, Island Home Association treasurer Carolyn Williams, and KPD Officer Walker, whose beat is the Lake Forest area

The attached photographs illustrate the "bright" enthusiastic atmosphere that prevailed. Thanks to all those who attended. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 16th at 7:00pm at the Lake Forest Presbyterian Church. It is proposed that this will be a working meeting, although Officer Phil Garland, KPD Safety Office, will follow up on Officer Walker's presentation, on how the KPD Safety Office's programs can be incorporated into the LFNA.

Several comments were made about trouble attending Thursday night meetings - one suggestion might be to alternate with Tuesdays on even months and Thursdays on odd months. I feel that monthly meetings are appropriate during the initial organizing and then may go to every other or so.

Unofficially submitted, Rich Hopkins
