COMPASS Program

The Office of the States Attorney, Sixth Judicial Court, has selected the Lealman Community to participate in a program whereby juvenile offenders livening in the Lealman area will appear before a panel of Lealman residents who will recommend diversion options.

The COMPASS Community Justice Board will be comprised of trained volunteer citizens who make recommendations on what type and how many hours of community service a young offender must perform to restore the community’s trust, quality of life, and confidence in the offender’s future behavior.

The program was presented to the community at the August 4th LCA meeting by Vance Arnett, Administrator of the COMPASS Program. Ray Neri, LCA President was asked to be the contact person to empanel the voluntary board members.

The first hearing is scheduled for September 21st at the Broach school located at 44th Ave and 43rd Street N. at 6:45 PM.

This program is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, Community Prosecutions Programs.

Community Connection Center to be located in Lealman

The CCC facility will be located in Lealman Park.
The County Administrator, Steve Spratt, has launched an outreach program that puts access to the county closer to the residents. The CCC center Director for Lealman will be Frank Bowman.
The new facility should be in place by the end of the year and will be a great asset to the residents of Lealman as well as provide a presence in the newly furbished Lealman Park.

Don't forget. The Lealman Community Association meets at 7:00PM at the VFW Post 6827 on the first Wednesday of each month .
