Kissena Park Rezoning Completed May 11, 2005

Rezoned at Last!

After years of hard work most of the R3-2 zoned area of our neighborhood has been contextually rezoned. All future developement will now have to conform to our existing housing stock. Each of the three new zoning types restricts new construction to detached housing only. The new zoning designations are R2, R3X and R3A.
The driving force beehind this effort was our good friend, planning consultant Paul Graziano. Paul guided us through this very complicated process and prepared the many complex documents that were needed to get the ball rolling.
This zoning change will insure a better quality of life for all of us that continue to make our home in the Kissina Park neighborhood of Flushing. We must now support our neighboring communities in their effort to rezone their areas in the same way they supported us throughout our rezoning process.
