REMINDER: COMMUNITY GARAGE SALE NEXT SATURDAY (June 26)

Posted in: Kesslebrooke Station

The annual community garage sale is next Saturday (June 26) starting at 8am.  The HOA has advertised this in local newspapers.

NEW FOR THIS YEAR:  The HOA has rented a 40 cubic yard dumpster.  The dumpster is being provided so that you can dispose of normal household items, including those items which you may not have been able to sale during the garage sale.  The dumpster will be available from Friday to Monday.  Please insure all items are placed in dumpster and not along side the dumpster.  If dumpster becomes full, do not overfill dumpster.  This dumpster is only for residents of Kesslebrooke Station and will be monitored.  The placement of the dumpster is still being determined, we will send that info when finalized.

The dumpster will be placed between 129 & 131 Bricknell Way.

Reminder: The dumpster is only for household waste and not intended for yard waste or anything considered hazardous.  See examples of items not to be put in dumpster below.  If you have any questions about what can and can't be put in dumpster, please consult with Quentin Dittman at 129 Bricknell Way prior to placing items in dumpster.

Items not allowed to be put in Dumpster - No flammable, toxic, and/or hazardous material, thinners, lacquers, paints, paint filters, solvents, oils, oil filters, contaminated absorbents, asbestos, batteries, infectious waste, contaminated soils, fuels, inks, resins, adhesives or drums to be placed in container. Any item containing refrigerant must be evacuated according to federal law before disposal.  Also, no tires, stumps or railroad ties.

I think the dumpster was a big hit this year.  I want to thank all of our neighbors who placed their items inside the dumpster.  Also, I'd like to thank the Comptons for allowing us to place the dumpster partially on their property.

I do want to share that when I returned home this evening, there was an entire bedroom suit leaned up against the dumpster and left on the Compton property.  Quentin did place all the items in the dumpster (which were wet by this time).  I don't know how likely the HOA will be to continue to provide this type opportunity for the residents if it is treated with disrepect.  Again, I thank those residents that placed their items in the dumpster.  I hope that one bad apple doesn't spoil the bunch.  If you happen to be the neighbor that left the furniture next to the dumpter, I hope you consider that you didn't just leave your trash next to a dumpster, you threw it on your neighbor's lawn.

The dumpster is currently past maximum capacity.  Quentin and I will be spending part of our day tomorrow climbing in and trying to compact some of the trash so we are not charged more when the dumpster is retrieved.

Thanks,

Becky Dittman
