Vision Zero: Strategies to Improve Public Safety - Virtual Workshop | March 27, 6 p.m.

Our streets are our responsibility! Vision Zero is a data-driven approach to traffic safety that focuses public dollars on areas that statistically create the most public benefit. In this workshop, the Charlotte Department of Transportation’s Vision Zero Community Coordinator will share how this initiative seeks to improve public safety and end traffic fatalities through education, enforcement and engineering projects like crosswalks, bike lanes and better street lighting. The City of Charlotte is committed to continuing work with the community to increase safety, health and mobility for all users.

This workshop will take place via Zoom. Registration is required. Online and call-in access instructions will be emailed to registered participants prior to the workshop.

Charlotte’s Mobility Vision: A Vision Zero Lunch and Learn Workshop | March 24, 1 p.m.

Since the summer of 2021, The Charlotte Department of Transportation has worked in partnership with local community engagement firm Civility Localized and national planning firm Kimley-Horn to enhance awareness of the City of Charlotte's Vision Zero Initiative to reduce traffic fatalities and serious injuries on Charlotte roadways. This workshop is part of a Lunch and Learn Series created to enhance learning across disciplines and network through the topic of transportation.

The Strategic Mobility Plan (SMP), adopted in 2022, is the most recent update to the city’s long-range mobility vision. The SMP is centered around the goal of providing safe and equitable mobility options for all who share Charlotte’s streets. Join us as speaker Hannah Bromberger, Strategic Mobility Division Manager at Charlotte Department of Transportation, shares her thoughts on how we can think differently about our everyday work to ensure everything we do keeps safety and equity at the forefront of transportation.

Join us from noon to 1 p.m. on March 24. The meeting will be hosted virtually. Email scierra.bratton@charlottenc.gov to receive the Teams link and feel free to forward to others who may be interested and benefit from this conversation.
