Open enrollment at local charter school

Denver Arts and Technology Academy (DATA) currently has open enrollment for next school year. Founded by Northwest Denver parents and community members in the fall of 2000, DATA is a tuition-free charter school that offers parents a choice in elementary education for grades K-6.
A traditional elementary school in many respects, parents often state it is the school?’s unique attributes that brought them to the school. DATA offers:
?· Explicit phonics instruction taught with classical and multi-cultural literature.
?· Full day kindergarten.
?· Small class sizes.
?· 8-9 high-end Pentium computers in every classroom, in addition to a 25-station computer lab for technology instruction.
?· The unique afternoon Paragon program includes social science, literature, philosophy, drama, music, art, science, history, math, geography and character development through the hands-on study of ?“great ideas?” in world culture.
?· Energetic, caring and committed teachers permeate.
?· Spanish language taught for all students beginning in kindergarten.
?· An 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule provides approximately one hour per day more instruction time.
?· On-site, fee-based before and after school childcare program.
?· The school year is 200 days long.
?· After-school tutorial and fine arts programs.
?· A parent-led local board.
