Ugly Broken Mailboxes

Are homeowners responsible for mailboxes that are in poor condition? Can the association make the homeowner repair or replace ugly mail boxes. This is another eyesore in Farley.
MAILBOXES

The United States Postal Services set the standards for mail boxes and are responsible for notifying residents if their mail box is unacceptable for receiving mail. You can call the USPS Postal Indpector for more information regarding mailbox regulations.

Unfortunately Farley has no authority to make residents repair or replace mailboxes. We are not a covenented neighborhood and we have no legal authority. If a neighbor is unable to repair or replace a broken mailbox, perhaps other neighbors would be willing to help with the work in order to make the neighborhood look nicer. In some cases, where we have handicapped or elderly residents, this would be appreciated by all!

Theft

I have two issues in this message. First is I thought we were not to have junk cars sitting around our property and on or next tothe road parking for extended times was prohibited? Especially in the Duplex rental section.

Second, Has anyone reported that they have had their American flag stolen? I have had three stolen off my 25 foot pole in my front yard since Sept. 11. Pretty sad you can not show your pride in America for fear of getting your flag stolen.

Would like to have some feedback or replies on these issues. Thanks
