If you are interested in having a representative from the Dekalb police department come out to your house and perform a free safety survey, please call Sharon Dorcon at (404) 929-4606. Sharon is a wonderful resource and has some great safety tips. Sharon will not only survey your house, but your sheds, fences, garages, carports and patio areas. I hope you that can take advantage of this service . . . these are your county dollars at work!

Back-to-School note to parents: Orange and yellow hands-
Safe houses for our children if they need help
As you drive through the neighborhood you will notice yellow and orange hands tacked to some of the mailboxes. This alerts our children that these are safe houses to go to in case of emergencies. Just another way to keep our kids safe, the children need to know which house they can go to if they have a problem and their parents aren?’t home.
