As you may know the J-town sewer plant is being closed and the sewage is being piped to a larger  processing plant. Our detention basin is in that path.

I meet w/ the MSD project people for the third time to discuss the pipe's path.  It will basically tract the creek behind the homes on Sudbury, cut thru the middle of the basin behind Indocin and Brad, go thru the berm toward Jomarie, make a turn and go behind my house, thru the berm again, and up thru the vacant lot on Wyeth.

It's 24 inch pipe to be buried 8 ft in the gtound, most of this area only has about 3 ft of dirt or less and then solid rock.  So there will be blasting and they'll need a total of about 70 ft of clearance surrounding the pipe for top soil, equipment traffic, and rock.

The main access for all this work comes behind my house, approximately 50 ft away.  All the  large trees will be removed. Most of these trees have been there for almost 30 yrs and most are over 80 ft tall.

The engineers estimate the project to take 6 months and they will replant grass after they're done. The final easement for their construction should be marked within a month.

Needless to say my wife and I are upset. I hope the next meeting I have with the project people will have a few other residents present.  I will post the time when the next meeting is set.
