Third in series of meetings to be held Nov. 15th
Long Beach, CA (November 9, 2007) ?–South Wrigley Neighborhood Advisory Group Chairman Gavin Mc Kiernan announced a meeting to discuss the Wrigley Village Street Scaping project. The meeting will be held on Thursday evening November 15th at 6pm at the community center at 2023 Pacific Ave , Long Beach . The city of Long Beach has hired the architectural firm of Katherine Spitz and Associates who developed a plan for improvements in Wrigley Village ( Pacific Ave between PCH and Willow ).
Katherine Spitz Associates has thus far coordinated two public meetings with NAG to design a plan to enhance the streetscape in Wrigley Village . During the first two community meetings on this project, the consulting team worked with the community to define design parameters. The community focused on which components will have the most impact on improving Pacific Avenue and expressed a strong interest in the ?“green?” design scheme being the focus of the plan for the streetscape. Research into the current state of the art on green street practices and conceptual plans to implement them on Pacific Avenue are being prepared. On November 15th at 6pm at 2023 Pacific Ave design components will be discussed and the plan will move closer to being final. Come and see and share your opinions.
NAG chairman Gavin Mc Kiernan said, ?“the community was very excited about the different plans presented at our August meeting and will be given a chance to comment on the vision for the area again as Katherine Spitz group comes back to us with a report on what is feasible and what the next steps are.?”
Other presenters on the 15th will be LBPD who will also be present to update public safety issues in the area and Wrigley is Going Green which will recap their recent tree planting where they planted over 150 trees in Wrigley in two hours on November 3rd.
All members of the community are welcome.
