The Hardest Hit Fund Rhode Island (HHFRI) will host a community information meeting on:

> Rhode Island Housing is urging homeowners to attend this meeting to learn about the latest changes in the HHFRI program that have made it easier for Rhode Island homeowners having difficulty making mortgage payments to get assistance.

> On Saturday, August 18th at 1:00 p.m., join Habitat for Humanity for a 'house dedication' at 38 Burnside Street in Providence.

> The event will celebrate the successful development of this newly constructed single-family 4-bedroom home. Among the funding sources utilized in this development were $52,750 from the Building Homes Rhode Island (BHRI) program.

Dear Friends, 

 

House of Hope needs your help. 

 

House of Hope is looking to move from Harrington Hall, the state's largest night-to-night homeless shelter, to the old Gloria McDonald Building. The goal is to create a Triage and Assessment Center with the intent of rapidly moving people out of shelter and into housing. But the move requires the support of the Governor. At this point, it's unclear whether he'll allow this important change in the way we address homeless. The Governor is expected to make a decision this week, so time is of the essence.

 

We need you to tell Governor Chafee: Replace Harrington Hall!  

 

House of Hope has put together a petition to demonstrate to the Governor that the people of Rhode Island care about the conditions of their fellow citizens who are undergoing homelessness. The conditions at Harrington Hall are the sort that no one would wish for their family or friends to live in, and House of Hope does its best despite those conditions.  

 

Moving to the new building would not only improve the quality of living conditions, but would allow House of Hope to offer a whole host of new programs that would reduce the number of people on the street or in shelter.
 
Please sign this petition, and tell Governor Chafee to act to improve the lives of Rhode Islanders experiencing homelessness. Please share this with friends, family, or co-workers. Due to the location of the new building, Cranston signatures are especially important.
