Grand Rapids Police Enforce Odd/Even Parking

During the past week, Grand Rapids police officers have been directed to place warning cardson vehicles found in violation of the Odd/Even Parking Ordinance.  Approximately 2000warning cards (attached) were placed on vehicles throughout the city.  Those warning cardswill now be replaced with odd/even parking citations

It is important that citizens, who park on posted odd/even city streets, realize that theordinance is in place so snowplow drivers can remove snow, allowing police, fire, andambulances to be able to get to homes during emergency situations.

Please abide by the following rules for parking on streets posted with odd/even (seasonal)parking signs to avoid being ticketed:

PARK on the EVEN-numbered side of the street on EVEN-numbereddays from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

PARK on the ODD-numbered side of the street on ODD-numbereddays from 1:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

From 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., parking is PERMITTED on both sides of the street unless thereare signs posted restricting parking.  Ensure that you are parked on the appropriate side of the street when restrictions go into effect at 1:00 a.m.
