St. Park Moves Entry

Posted in: Duneland First
Now, the powers that be at the Dunes St. Park, have decided that after 80 yrs they need to ''update, and make the Park entry more pleasing to the eye'' So, They are going to move it up and over to the west, taking 565 parking spots on the west parking lot to do this. They have already elimated the old east parking lot.Seems to me they should spend money hiring more lifeguards so that hundreds of people won't be hurded into a small portion of beach. They could spend money hiring someone to keep the trails clear of falling limbs and trees. After recent storm you have to crawl through parts of trail 10, and leave it completely in some places.Thoughts, anyone?
state park priorities

I agree with you Trailwalker. The state park administrators, the higher-up ones anyway, need to rethink their priorities. They need to improve on what's already there. The beach has been pretty disgusting the past few weeks with the rootbeer colored water extending across most of the beachfront. AND VISITORS STILL SWIM AND PLAY IN IT ALL DAY!!! This is SO GROSS! why has it been getting worse and worse every year? I don't recall the runoff being anywhere near this bad 20 years ago....
