Sounds like your son and mine would love playing together. Our dining room area is more like a train station, ha ha ha!! I am a stay at home mom also, but with just the one child. I did see someone posted under the information section in regard to calling about the playgroups. I plan on calling this week to see about them. After talking with them I will let you know about the playgroup and what I find out. Please keep us informed as to when your family arrives. The only real social activity my son has with children his own age at this time is at the nursery at church. I do not know where you are coming from, but if you are looking for a church home to visit we have joined a warm, wonderful, friendly, and very welcoming church called Mulder Memorial Methodist Church. The pastors are absolutely wonderful. They are laid back so you do not feel like you have to dress to the "T" every Sunday, they have the best playgorund that you could ever imagine, and are growing. The web site is: http://www.mulderchurch.org

I was raised in a Baptist church and was a little apprehensive about going to another denomination, but honestly I can not tell the difference in the two. The beliefs are the same and to me that is what is most important. When you and your family do move I wish you all the best in a smooth and happy move.

Yes they probably would. We are probably going to put him in Preschool type program just so he has a chance to prepare but more than anything give him interaction with other children on a consistent basis.

Any updates would be lovely. I'm sure my wife would be grateful.

We grew up in a Nazarene Church but we are going to check out quite a few to find the right home.

We'll be in for short pit stop first week of June then for good around 15 to 17 July.

Take care and god bless.

P.S. I'll check the website out. Hopefully it's not too far from the home so we can be active participants and fellowship :)

I just wanted to let you know that there is a website for mothers that has just started up lately.  It is www.centralalabamamoms.com  It has been a great resource for me since I am new to the area as well.  I have actually had a play date with a couple of other moms in this area (we went to the playground at Mulder Methodist Church).  I wanted to meet some other moms in the area and have playdates to give my daughter interaction with other kids as much as possible since the only interaction she has right now is at church.  If/when we plan another playdate, I'll post the info on here as well.  Last time it was all girls, but we would love to have some boys, too!  Smile
