2004/2005 HNA Action Plan

Action Plan Goals

Environment:
· Pursue adequate storm water management in all projects in the Hayhurst Neighborhood.
· Support the acquisition of recreational and open space property by the City.
· Support environmental restoration of the Fanno Creek Watershed and encourage participation with the newly formed Vermont Creek Stewards.
· Continue to monitor and to respond, as needed, to proposed new development/redevelopment and use of existing property in our neighborhood for impacts on drainage, access, traffic, safety, design, livability, health, existing trees, zoning, and to encourage sustainable building practices.

Transportation:
· Work with Hayhurst Elementary and Robert Gray Middle School on Safe
Routes to School.
· Work with SW Trails to improve trails.
· Advocate for projects for inclusion on the Capital Improvement Plan CIP)
list to include pedestrian refuges at key crossings on Beaverton-Hillsdale
Highway.

Community Outreach:
· Plan and organize a National Night Out picnic.
· Expand the e-mail database to include more neighbors in meeting notices and news relevant to the Hayhurst Neighborhood.
· Work with Hayhurst Elementary parents and staff on landscaping projects.

Safety:
· Encourage formation of several new Neighborhood Watch Programs and
facilitate the networking of all established Programs.
· Encourage the addition of new members to the Neighborhood Emergency
Team.
