Neighborhood Watch Prostitution Patrol

Commonly referred to as HO-DOWN, this vehicle patrol goes out currently on Friday and Saturday evenings in through to the early morning hours. The purpose of the patrol is to keep the prostitutes moving through the neighborhood, and preventing potential "customers" from picking them up and then using our neighborhood for their activities. The Patrol has been extremely successful in their efforts. Through the use of two-way radios each car is in constant communication. Tags are recorded and information turned over to the SAC police unit on a weekly basis.

Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood Association

Hampton Terrace is a part of the Old Seminole Heights Neighborhood association. For a nominal fee of $10.00 annually you can become an OSHNA member and be a part of one of the most prominent and motivated associations in our great city. Check out OSHNA at www.seminole-heights.org

Traffic Calming

Our neighborhood TRAFFIC CALMING efforts are being spearheaded by Idlewild neighbor Jeff Harmon. The #1 goal is to reduce speeding, especially on Idlewild, Henry, Powhatan and Hanna Avenues. Hampton Terrace also gets alot of cut-thru traffic-driver's trying to avoid the Hillsborough/Nebraska intersection use our neighborhood as a pass through. Jeff has had the city out conducting neighborhood meetings, as well as several Speed Pace Setting days. We need volunteers to help get the city to reduce the speed limit in the neighborhood while making our streets safe. Please contact Jeff - We need your help!
