Meeting was called  to order, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance

 

Introduction of HNA Board, and guest speaker,

Pat Schneider – City of San Antonio,  Landscape Architect

 

New members on the
HNA Board of Directors were introduced:


  • Jerry Cook - Vice President

  • Wilma Johnson – Treasurer        

  • David Perez – Director

 

President
Robinette
recognized those outgoing Board members for their outstanding contribution and service to the HNA:


  • Joyce Jansen – (former Vice Present)

  • Humberto Ramirez – (former Treasurer)

  • Charles Parks (former Director)

The HNA extends a debt of gratitude to these members for stepping up to serve as part of the leadership to keep Heritage a safe and fun place to live.

 

 The Heritage Neighborhood Association 2013 National Night Out event was awarded 1st place in Council District 4.  There will be an awards ceremony on Saturday Dec 14th at the UTSA downtown campus (10 am to noon).

 

Lisa Gagnon spoke about the importance of using cloth bags when shopping, instead of plastic.

Plastic bag clean up in San Antonio costs over a million dollars each year.

 

Old Business


  • Future HNA meeting dates were given for 2014

  • Hunt Lane completion date is rescheduled for  mid January, 2014

 

New Business


  • It was discussed that board members will have more responsibility in running the HNA.

  • Richard Zagrocki requested the membership to write down who they would like to have for guest speakers in 2014.

  • Volunteers are needed to put up the new HNA sign on the pool grounds on Dec 7th, 9:00am.     

  • The HNA is sponsoring a Home Christmas decoration contest.  The prizes will be
    as follows: 

1st Prize - $50.00

2nd Prize - Dinner for 2

3rd Prize - Free one year HNA membership

Each winner will receive a Certification of Recognition. Certificates and prizes will be presented at the Jan 21, 2014 HNA meeting.


  • Members approved cash drawings of (3) $10.00 drawings at each meeting. A winner must be present to win.

  • Juanita Criado, refreshment coordinator, asked if members would want to volunteer to provide fresh baked goods for the HNA meetings as a change from bought goods.

 

Guest Speaker – Pat Schneider,
project manager from Capital Improvements Management Services (CIMS),conducted a public meeting to get input from the residents on how to spend the  $400,000 allocated to the Heritage Duck Pond park from the 2012-2017 Bond.  In previous HNA meetings the membership had indicated a skate park would be a good project.  Discussion included the size

and type of park with emphasis on the targeted age of those who may be utilizing the skate board park.  Also, there was discussion about using some bond money to move the park gazebo to a
more secure place to alleviate criminal mischief and graffiti.  This meeting was the first of more public meetings on the use of this money. The next meeting will be Feb 18, 2014.      

 

Meeting was adjourned after the public hearing portion of the HNA meeting.
