Greater Park Hill Community

GREATER PARK HILL COMMUNITY, INC.

Jan 24, 2005

Dear Neighbors:

We hope you enjoy receiving the Greater Park Hill News. This newspaper is one of the many community-focused activities of Greater Park Hill Community, Inc. (GPHC). GPHC has a long and rich history, proving that committed citizens with a positive vision can reach their dreams together. We invite you to become part of our vision for a healthy community by becoming a member of GPHC.

GPHC is the institutional heart of a historic and influential neighborhood. For nearly 40 years it has worked to foster understanding among people of different races, creeds, and ethnic backgrounds.

Our neighborhood constantly faces issues that greatly impact our quality of life: the re-development of the Holly and Dahlia shopping centers; the development and support of businesses within our neighborhood, the beautification of Martin Luther King Blvd. and revitalization of Colfax, the need for affordable housing, continued efforts to designate all of Park Hill as a National Historic District; the re-development of Stapleton Airport, our growing elder population's needs, our schools?’ ability to educate our children, provide outlets to develop character and spotlight the talents of our youth. GPHC supports these efforts and serves the community with programs such as the emergency food bank, the summer youth jobs program, and new efforts directed by our members.

Whether you have lived here for many years or whether you have just moved to Park Hill, you have certainly enjoyed the special nature of the Park Hill community encompassing the entire area east of Colorado Blvd. and north from Colfax to the Denver city boundaries.

This community thrives on the involvement of its residents. We invite you to become a paid member of GPHC. Membership levels begin at $20 annually, but less (and more!) will be accepted. Please think about donating a few hours of your time each month as well. We look forward to your participation and support.

With a growing membership base, GPHC can continue to grow with and respond to the needs of our diverse community. Please join us in meeting our modest goal of enrolling 1,000 Park Hill families and individuals as members of GPHC in 2005.

Sincerely,

Bob Homiak Stuart Francone Chuck Holum John Lee
