Police Update - Braintree Police Officer Sean Lyon and Chuck Bata were at the meeting to give an update on the policing GPA. Reminders to call the police with any suspicious activity 781-848-1212. When you call give a description of the car and license plate # if possible.

Pot Luck a Success - Congrats to Kay Connolly, Karen Nolan and John Haridman as well as the rest of the neighbors that made the Potluck a success.

GPA Golf Tournament - Paul Leonard would like to start an annual GPA Golf Tournament. He said that they have scheduled the first one on Thursday April 26th at the Pembroke Country Club. The cost is $41.00 per person with a cart asking that individuals that would like to play kick in $50.00. That would be for golf and then a cookout at Paul's house after the tournament. They need 4 - 5 teams and will be calling the Pembroke Country Club 1 week ahead so you would need to let Paul know if you are interested by Thursday April 19th. The tee time will be before 12:00 Noon probably at 10AM. Interested please email Paul at pjleonard@beld.net.

Treasurers Report - Kay Connolly gave an update on membership fees and what she has collected so far as well as what we have spent money on.

The biggest expense this far was getting the newsletter printed due to the fact that is was in color. Many neighbors were happy with the newsletter they felt that it was informative.

Membership: people ages 65 and older are free
individuals $10.00 and families are $20.00 if you are interested in joining please contact Kay Connolly.

New Neighbors - The neighborhood welcomed Bill Devine who just bought and knocked down the house on the corner of Blossom and Davis. He will be building a new 3 bedroom 3 bath ranch in the upcoming months. Neighbors were excited that the old run down house was finally gone!

Welcoming Committee - Kay Connolly had suggested a welcoming committee for new neighbors. Brenda Crowley volunteered to help getting the welcoming packet together with Kay and distributing. The packet will contain important phone numbers, information regarding the area and Braintree. Christine Hagar suggested a neighborhood phone directory with names and numbers of neighbors as well as email addresses. Those interested in having their name/address and contact info published please contact Kay Connolly or Christine Hagar (chagar@beld.net).

Water Quality - Discussion on water some people have seen improvements some have not.

Traffic - Follow-up needed with TASC there are some signs and issues outstanding. Brooks Drive being taken over by the town will be discussed at the May town meeting.

E-Board Officers - We had voted to add 2 more people to E-board. The 2 people that were next on the list as getting votes will be added to the board and contacted to make sure they are still interested. Kathy DeLucca was one and is still interested the other is TBD.

Mosquitos - Karen Nolan gave an update on the weekly spraying and information on who to contact and where to go to find more information. The neighborhood gets sprayed when we call and the day they spray is usually Wednesdays. The chemical used is Anvil which has a 1/2 life of 20 mins and then it is gone. The chemical doesn't harm lady bugs and other insects. They spray at around 3 AM using a truck and the spray goes about 100 feet. We are going to see if we can get on a program so that nobody has to call and it will just happen once a week. The NCMP (Norfolk County Mosquito Control Program) is willing to treat standing water with pellets that kill the breeding areas.
For more information call 781-762-3681 or go to www.massnrc.org/ncmcp.

Block Party - Dave Cushing suggested having a block parties two times a year. We are looking at summer and fall. Potential date for the summer party is June 10th. The area will be down at Fallon Circle. We are hoping to get a moonwalk, pony rides for the kids, horse shoe tournament for the adults. We will need donations for the moon walk and pony rides as well as bringing food/drinks. Planning will happen over the next few months and will be discussed at the next E-Board Meeting May 8th.
