Good neighbors Beautify Triangle

Aug 22, 2000

The marigold planted by Golding of the Triangle volunteers last May are at their peak now and couldn't be more beautiful. Many other flower beds and planters in the neighborhood have been tended with care for the enjoyment of everyone in the community. This labor of love should not go unrecognized, so the following is a list of those good neighbors. If we failed to notice someone's flowers, please call the GTNA office (303-572-0506) to be listed next month.

The marigold beds on Speer Boulevard were impeccable tended all summer by some very civic minded neighbors:

The Norris Dullea Company-Colfax Avenue Grand Cherokee residents-14th Avenue Colondade federal office building employess-13th Avenue Humphries Poli Architects-12th Avenue, Metropolitan Lofts residents-11th Avenue

One more thank you goes to the city parks department employee, Gary Macias, who added another measure of TLC to the Speer Blvd. marigolds. He watered them by hand all summer because the water main is broken.

Property owners, residents, and business owners who beautified the neighborhood with their own flowers from large gardens to tiny window boxes are sincerely appreciated: Cherokee Restaurant, fabulous as always; the city's masterpiece in Civic Center Park; Metropolitan Lofts, spectacular pink petunias; Bannock Center property from 8th Avenue to the 900 block along Speer Blvd.-lush impatiens, petunias, and marigolds; Balustrade's unique balcony displays; Trovare, flower boxes on each balcony; Grand Cherokee, annual beds in the tree lawn; Century Lofts; Trieste; Native American Trading Company symbolic corn, beans and squash; Book Buffs, Camera Obscura, and Indigos; Rickenbaugh Cadillac/Volvo; Aspen C0ommercial Security; Aall Electric and BRC Electric Contractors; Gateaux Bakery; Go Control at 1226 Bannock; SGI-USA; the businesses in the building on the southeast corner of 12th Avenue and Bannock; David Sorg's yellow Victorian house on Bannock; Byers Evans House; Black Tulip Antiques; Security Life Center; Ilios; 11th Avenue Hotel and Disant; Le Central Restaurant; Spicy Pickle Sub Shop; Channel 4; Sir Speedy Printing; Denver Buffalo Company; Colorado History Museum; businesses in the building on the southeast corner of 11th and Acoma; Arby's Cynthia Boteler Photography; West Design Services; Farmer's Insurance Group; Bolt's Car Care; David Clifton Ministries; The Fine Dining Company; Pints Pub and Dozens; and Bayeux Gallery.
