COLFAX AVENUE DOCUMENTARY

On November 1 the Golden Triangle Neighborhood Association and the Acoma Center presented a showing Colfax Avenue: Main Street Colorado. The multi-media documentary is a fascinating collage of historical photographs with narration by several well-informed, contemporary leaders. These included Ellen Ittelson of the planning department and Phil Goodstein, a local historian who also added his ever-candid commentary to the Acoma Center showing. Board member and Denver native Mickey Zeppelin was the moderator, and producer Jim Havey gave an introduction.

After the show a reception was hosted by Gateaux Bakery (graciously steeping in at the last minute when called upon); Buckhorn Exchange, a historic restaurant featured in the show; Anavama Mexican Restaurant and the Denver Coffee Bean, both on Colfax Avenue; and the Wynkoop Brewing Company.

Colfax Avenue: Main Street Colorado is sold right here in the neighborhood at Colorado History Museum Gift Shop and the Denver Public Library Store.
