Common Questions

Commonly Asked Questions

  1. 1.    Do I need to tell my homeowner’s insurance company that I live in the City of Glenview Manor?

Yes. The listed city gets a portion of all homeowner insurance premiums. By listing The City of Glenview Manor, you are having your insurance company send the funds to our city to help pay for road upkeep, snow removal and landscaping.

  1. 2.    Do I need City approval before starting construction or renovations to my house?

Yes. The Board of Commissioners must first approve plans and specifications in writing before any work begins.

  1. 3.    When is trash picked up?

Garbage is collected on Mondays & Thursdays. Recycling is collected every other Thursday and yard waste is collected every Thursday from March through December.

All garbage should be placed in the REAR of the house so that it is not visible from the street. Recycling bins and yard waste (leaves, grass clippings, large quantities of debris) are to be left at the street.

  1. 4.    Can I place signs on city islands or entrances?

No. Placement of commercial signs such as real estate companies, garage sales, political campaigns, etc. is prohibited on city islands and entrances

Please direct questions or concerns not addressed above to the Mayor or a City Commissioner.
