The Gateway West Neighborhood Association meeting was called to order by President Tasha at 6:30 p.m.  There were 31 neighbors present.

Mr. Earl read the GWNA police report.

Mr. Mike read the treasurer's report for the month ending March 2008.

Mr. Tim from Investor Finance gave a presentation on how to become debt-free, saving money and paying off your mortgage early.

Mr. Valentine introduced a fundraising idea to help raise money to pay for additonal street lighting in Gateway West.  The fundraiser would be a discount card that would cost $10 and the association would keep 70% profit from the sale of each card.

Ms. Linda announced that there will be a Gateway West parade on August 16 to help build community conntections.  She said the parade will start and end at School No. 109.  Ms. Linda said many volunteers are needed and if anyone is interested they should call her at 730-0857.

President Tasha annonced that there were over 350 people present for the 1st Annual Gateway West Easter Egg Hunt.  She thanked everyone for their donations and their help at the hunt.  Mr. Earl said that President Tasha had to spend $423 of her own money for the egg hunt.  He suggested that a fund be set up to help with the cost for next years egg hunt.  Mr. Earl said to get the fund started he would like to donate $100 he also made a motion to take 10% of each month's dues collection and put it in the fund.  Mrs. Hinshaw seconded the motion.  The motion passed unanimously.

President Tasha gave the dates for the upcoming events listed below:

      April 24 -  6:30 p.m. - SEED meeting at Covenant Baptist Church, 4201 W. 30th St.

      April 25-27 - Circle City Wide Yard Sale

      May 7 - IMPD Task Force meeting at the Northwest District Headquarters

President Tasha announced the guest speaker for the next meeting will be from the City of Indianapolis Zoning office.

Meeting adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
