Dittrichia graveolens

Stinkwort is an erect plant up to 20 inches high. This species ia native to the Mediterranean area.  

it was recently introduced into California where it has spread rapidly.It is often found in disturbed fields and roadways and in and beside trails
The whole plant is finely hairy and sticky and smells very strongly of camphor. Leaves
are narrow and grayish green. Flowers, which appear in late Summer or Fall, are small
and yellow with tiny petals. This plant is toxic to animals and causes an allergic reaction in people.  It can quickly become dominant and take over a field. 


HOW and WHEN TO GET RID OF Stinkwort
Small infestations can be chipped out prior to seeding.
