WELCOME Street Captains
(This is to give a big ?“Howdy?” for all the new move-ins. Very important stuff, even your kids could be involved!)

Each quarter you will receive your edition of the ?“FOXBORO VILLAGE VOICE?” with all the upcoming activities, new neighbors and area updates. Above are the folks you can contact to learn more about things going on in the neighborhood and especially about how you can become active in your community! And without further ado, a word
from our President?…

I would like to welcome our new families that have moved to our neighborhood in the past year. Hopefully you will feel the need to
become involved and participate in the activities we have planned over the next year. We need you!
Fall is here, so please try to keep our neighborhood looking good by cleaning up the leaves in your yard and around sewer drains.
Please be aware that we have had cars broken into and vandalized as well as theft from garages. Now that the holidays are coming, people
tend to leave valuables from shopping in their cars. Please be sure to lock your cars, keep valuables out of sight or out of your car and
garage doors are shut when you aren?’t outside. When out of town, have a neighbor check on your mail and leave some lights on. It?’s about safety!
Collection of dues by Block/Street Captains will begin soon. Cost of the yearly dues is $20. We are also trying to update our
neighborhood directory. Anyone interested in helping Craig Adams do this, please contact him or me. This will be a time consuming and costly adventure to tackle. The more who help, the faster it can get done.
Thank you to the members of our association who have volunteered for the activities we have scheduled. Hopefully these will be a fun time for all!

Sincerely,
Chris Adams-President, Foxboro Village Association

Foxboro Village Phases 1, 2 and 3 were built beginning in 1977 running thru 1979, which basically includes the area to the north of
Sawbury excluding Sawbury Boulevard and Sawbury Court. The latter area, Phase 4 (Sawbury Blvd. and Ct.) and homes and streets to the south were built in 1980 thru 1983.

The Foxboro Village Civic Association (FVCA) was founded during this period to cooperatively increase our neighborhood property values and
provide social events for the 170 home Foxboro subdivision and to keep a sense of community alive in the residents. FVCA has been ongoing and continues to fulfill this mission today. It?’s not often that you see a thriving Civic Association in an older, established community. Studies have shown that neighborhoods that have active civic associations are safer and the residents feel happier, more content and safe. Check out www.neighborhoodlink.com/columbus/fvca

What are you waiting for?

Many residents want to know their neighbors, wish they knew their neighbors, but never go meet their neighbors. It starts with you!!
No one cares how old you are, whether or not you have kids, married or unmarried, weird, cool or whatever! To truly be part of your community, put yourself out there and introduce yourself the next time you see ?“the neighbors?”! Volunteer to have a potluck happy hour on your street or actually attend a neighborhood gathering. No one
truly understands how much their community means to them until tragedy strikes. Where would the folks of Florida be without their friends and neighbors? Let?’s get together in GOOD TIMES.
Who couldn?’t use another friend?
Your friendly Street Captains will be coming around collecting the $20 annual fee to be a member of the FOXBORO VILLAGE CIVIC ASSOCIATION. This money is used to help pay for the village
ornaments , block parties, Santa visits, luminaries, snowplowing during heavy snows, Easter egg hunts, landscaping upgrades?…tons of
stuff! 70% of the residents belong to the association, we would love to get 100% participation! It?’s for all of us! All of the folks mentioned in this newsletter are trying to help revive our community.
We would like to see more (NEW!) faces at the gatherings and more volunteers helping out. We would hate to see our community ties go the way of the dinosaur?…take an hour out of your schedule and attend the next gathering (see the last page J)! Contact Gary & Cathy Tiffany @ 792-9944 for more information.

ORNAMENT GATHERING
The get together and ornament evening is scheduled for Monday, December 6, 7-9 pm. The evening consists of a delicious dinner and
fun ?“crafty?” time for making the ornaments to be passed out by Santa on Luminary Night. Please come! It costs you nothing but your time and who cares if you aren?’t crafty or artistic?…not necessary! Your participation is most important! Please bring an appetizer or
dessert. Joy Culp?’s (7586 Silver Fox Dr.) RSVP:764-1745

SANTA VISITS AND LUMINARIES
On December 12 our streets will be all aglow and Santa will be coming around the neighborhood to visit children 8 years & under.
Santa will bring each child a candy cane and one ornament for the family Christmas Tree (or wherever you would like to put this memento). Please respond to our ?“Family Directory," questionnaire,
so we know where to send Santa!
Luminary kits consist of 20 candles, bags and sand and are FREE (your dollars working!!) to association members. Corner lots receive two
sets. It will look marvelous!

NEIGHBORHOOD DIRECTORY
It?’s time to update our directory! Why? So you know who lives around you! Safety-wise, it is always a good idea to have the names & numbers of the folks who live immediately around you. In this directory, we would also like to put together a ?“Directory of Services?”, so we can support those among us who are in business for
themselves. If you would like to place an ad in our directory and are a member, the cost will be $10. Non-members can place an ad for $25 for a business-card size ad. All residents agree not to use email addresses for chain letters or for group forwards...
Neighborhood business only.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES
Phase One of the Hard Rd. widening project will be completed by Fall 2005. Dennis Hyundai is developing the lots between NTB?’s Tire Kingdom & Krieger Mercury on Billingsley Road.
