Foster-Powell Neighborhood Association

Hello. The neighbors on our block are helping the police investigate a house where we have reason to suspect drug dealing is occuring. We are also working with the Housing Authority of Portland, Section 8 Division, to make the landlords more accountable for the tenants they choose for this 3-unit property. We are moving ahead, but several of us are being harassed and threatened by the suspected dealers and their cronies. Do you have any advice for us? We could use some support and words of wisdom.

Moving Forward Drug House

The slum lords of this property (probably partly due to the pressure from our Neighborhood Watch) sold the property to a new owner who seems very willing to work with us. After receiving information from the police about illegal activity at the house, she gave the tenants a 24-hour eviction notice. They haven't vacated the property, and she will probably have to take them to court, but we are helping her gather more information, and we are also keeping an eye on her property for her. Working together has made all of this possible, and we really appreciate the support of the Foster Powell Neighborhood Association.
