Lost or Found a Cat/Dog???

Posted in: FoxStone
Here are two tips that someone gave the other day in case you lose or find a critter:

1) Call the Humane Society as soon as possible. Often people will call the Human Society first when they find an animal and will hold the animal at their own residence for a while until they hear from the owner. [The Humane Society often acts as an intermediary and will give the owner the phone # of the person who found the animal, so they can contact that person directly.] THIS COULD SAVE YOU THE COST (I think around $35 or more) OF HAVING TO GO PICK UP YOUR PET AT THE HUMANE SOCIETY.

2) Use this discussion area to post a notice.

3) Use our FoxStone e-mail list (we have the link on our home page) to notify people of the missing/found animal. Our current membership on the list is around 100 households, so you might get lucky!

re: lost pets

You might want to consider calling a few of the local veterinarian offices as well. If your pet has a rabies tag, the vet who issued it to be contacted by the finder to help track down Fluffy or Phydeaux's owner.
