I'm appalled at the lack of thought that went into the decision by the residents of the area covered by the Forks of the Patuxent to not allow the lifting of the age restrictions on the Two Rivers proposed development. Not only to we end up in a position whereby that land can be sold and used for a variety of less desirable activities,  the area loses significant funding for improving the infrastructure and aesthetics of the community.

Two rivers was offering the community over $3M in improvements and to build a new school for obtaining permission to modify the planned development to allow for an unrestricted age community.

I suspect that the $5,000 Two Rivers has been paying the Homeowners Improvement Association quarterly will be terminated. I can't imagine why they would continue to pay them this money when the Association put them in a position whereby they can't move forward with any development. Residents that were going to receive additional kick backs will now not be getting them; e.g., new barn for Wendy Cozzone (see this link). I'm sure that there are others.

What really got under my skin on this entire issue was the total lack of transparency that took place with the Association's board. They met in secret with the Two Rivers developers but would never reveal to the members that they did nor what they discussed and/or agreed to. The Association Board is in place to represent the residents and to be transparent. Having closed door meetings and not relaying what was happening and what was being planned is shameful and not in keeping with an open, honest and trustworthy association.
