Message from the President......

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the first elected Board of Directos for the Fordham Progressive Block Club.

President - Joy L. Curry
Vice President - Robert Newton
Recording Secretary - Marselles Newton
Corresponding Secretary's - Nicole McClendon and Rodney Warmsby
Treasurer - Margie Cartwright
Sergeant-At-Arms - Roland Chandler

Since being elected we have dedicated times to meet and discuss issues that will hopefully increase safety and awareness within our neighborhood. Create and promote togetherness along with improving our surrondings.

During our tenure we have a long hard job ahead of us and with everyone's assistance we can make this a better place to live.

During the next couple of meetings we will be introducing a various of topics and suggestions that we will be seeking volunteers. At the next schedule meeting we are seeking signatures to petition to close the alley between Fordham and E. 7 Mile. So please come to the meeting we need all the signatures we can obtain.

Before I close, I can only stress the importance of attending our neighborhood meetings. You will soon discover that we all have a command investment.

Together we can conquer anything that we set our minds to do. Separation only causes doubt.

Joy L. Curry
President

A block club meeting was held on September 18th at the ACT office. The following topics were discussed to see what is being done to address the recent increase of burglaries and car theft. The newly elected Board of Directos were introduced. It was also decided that a $5.00 per month per household membership will be implemented effective this month. This money will be collected at each block club meeting and will be used to purchase various items.

DEDICATION TO THOSE WHOM MAY HAVE LOST THEIR LIFE OR A MEMBER OF THIER FAMILY.

For God so loved the world that he sent his greatest gift; his son, so that by example of his life, we could learn how to live our own lives.

************************************************
SUCCESS BEGINS the moment we understand that life is about growth; it is about acquiring the knowledge and skills we need to live more fully and effectively. Life is meant to be a never-ending education, and when this is fully appreciated, we are no longer survivors but adventurers. Life becomes a journey of discovery, an exploration into our potential. Any joy and exubernace we experience in living are the fruits of our willingness to risk, our openness to change, and our ability to create what we want for our lives.

If you have already risked much and lost much, it doesn't matter. Mistakes don't matter. Failure doesn't matter. What matters is that you learned from and moved forward, you grew as a result of those experiences. The mistake-riddled life is much richer, more interesting, and more stimulating thatn the life that has never risked or taken a stand on anything. Hal Prince, the famous Broadway producer, said "Anyone who hasn't had a failure is an amateur...." David McNally.

Our next meeting is scheduled to vote on By-Laws. This meeting will be held on October 23, 2001 at 6:30 PM at the A.C.T. Patrol Office, 18404 Morang.
