Tree Pruning

Feb 23, 2002

This is probably our number one complaint. Ever wonder why no matter how many times you ask you can?’t get the city down to prune that street tree? In 1997 the Parks Dept. began a program of routine block-by-block maintenance. Each city tree would be pruned once every 10 years. Each year one tenth of the trees in each community board area will be pruned. Consequently, Parks no longer takes routine pruning requests. We have asked community board 8 when our area will be pruned and have not received a reply yet
Talking of community boards, our civic no longer has representation on community board 8 since your president was involuntarily removed from the board with no explanation. Anyone interested in representing his or her community?
