Flushing Heights Civic Association

Hello to All

Jun 16, 2002

Hello to all. This issue of our newsletter is the first many of you have received as new members of the civic association. Our membership drive was a great success. Seventy-five new members signed up which is, by far, the largest increase we have had in many years if not ever. Although twenty-eight members did not renew, the increase is still significant. We now have a paid membership of 231 and this is the first year in a long time the trend of declining membership has reversed.

We try to keep the focus of this newsletter on local issues and items pertinent to our community. With this in mind, we?’d like to here from you. You may have something to contribute to the newsletter- an article, information, advice, or anything relevant. We are a large community and cannot be aware of all our members concerns and everything going on that needs an organized effort. So write to us or call.

Please join us at our general membership meeting on April 23rd at Public School 173 with invited guests Councilman Jim Gennaro and a representative from St. Joseph?’s Hospital. Our new Councilman has stated his number one priority is to provide service to the community. St. Joseph?’s offers various services to the community.
