Florence Park South

May 2003 Residence of the Month

May 04, 2003

Thanks and congratulations to Torie for being selected as the Florence Park South Neighborhood Association's May 2003 "Residence of the Month."

From it's two large shade trees providing shelter from the afternoon sun and bitter Oklahoma wind, to the fragile blooms of the vast variety of colorful flowers artfully arranged throughout, Torie's yard has always been a delight for the senses.

As you pass Torie's home, you might notice the precious assortment of birdhouses hanging from the remnants of a vine covered tree trunk. Or you may see a busy sparrow working on a nest in the branches above.

Look closer and you may find one of the most endearing elements in our entire city, a small memorial garden dedicated to Torie's father complete with stone plaque and selection of his favorite flowers.

But, staying true to our cause, we also take notice of the home nestled behind the garden. A classic traditional feel with obvious signs of Torie's innovative decorative touch. Simple strokes such as the design hardware she added to the garage door make big impressions on the overall canvas.

These are a few of many aspects one can only fully enjoy during a midmorning or early evening stroll. It's a special feeling you get when you pass under the shade of those trees. A feeling we all could use in such a busy world.

So, thanks and congratulations Torie. Your attention to detail and tasteful coordination makes Florence Park South a better place to live.
