I have an issue with the fence that is shared with the people behind us.  I know the people who are living in the house now aren't the original occupants who put up the fence, but aren't they still responsible for repairs?  The fence is falling apart and they have dogs, one of which has actually chewed a hole in the fence.  I myself have a dog, she only goes out to go potty, but I'm afraid one of the dogs that live behind us are going to come through the fence.  When my husband mows back there, they have almost come through the fence after him.  I noticed on the discussion page someone else is having a fence issue, but I didn't see and answer as to responsibility.  Please let me know what I can do.  I will try to send photos, so you can see the seriousness of the situation.  Unfortunately, I am unable to figure out how to send pictures of the fence.

I think typically the fence repairs are shared by neighbors. 

If their dog comes through the fence, though, that's a different issue, especially if it's vicious, dangerous, or actually hurts you or your property. Would be a police issue at that point.

Good fences help keep good neighbors, so I'd try to get them on board with splitting the cost for upkeep.
