GEOGRAPHY 30: FIELD METHODS

Community members have a unique opportunity to get a very practical education about the environment. Geography 30 is one of the very few community college courses in California teaching Field Methods.

The course uses a hands-on approach using practical applications of math, environmental science, geography, and job readiness skills. The course is offered at Pasadena City College. However, since the lessons are all taught outdoors at various National and State Parks in southern California. You don't have to go to class in Pasadena. Instead, the class involves travel and camping.

This class is an ideal place to learn more about southern California geography. It is also an ideal way to understand local habitats. Take this 1-unit college course (it qualifies for transfer credit to the California State University system), and you will be well prepared to participate in the upcoming National Wildlife Federation Habitat Steward training workshop to be held in Spring 2004.
