A Leimert Park Neighborhood Block Club

The mission of Sutro Avenue Block Club is to work towards improving the quality of life for those who live, work and visit in our community. The block club involves the 4100 block of Sutro Avenue. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every other month in member homes. The Block Club has been in operation over twenty years. It currently has twenty active members. The Club has been successful in having street signs installed, in creating an effective working relationship with the Los Angeles Police Department and attentioning life quality issues such as animal regulation, removal of termite infested trees, updating of street lighting and obtaining automatic gas shut offs.

The major Block Club goal for the year 2000 is to recruit new members. The Block Club President is Blanche Alston. For more information, contact Claudette Wirrie.
