Scott Armstrong is the director and founder of the Emergency Rescue Service, a not for profit team of volunteers based in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California. Scott, a general contractor by trade, was formerly a senior instructor for Hughes Survival Systems and is currently a consultant for Prevail Survival Systems. He served as a trainer for the Boy Scouts of America High Adventure Team of Scoutleaders instructing them in advanced mountaineering skills, which included kayaking, rafting, snowshoeing and ice field traversing as well as expeditionary outfitting. A wilderness survival enthusiast, Scott has taken great pleasure in sharing his knowledge to over 1,500 Search and Rescue attendees at the "SAR City" conferences since 1986.
