JULY NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES

For those of you who missed our meeting on June 14,2001. we had a very nice
presentation by the Santa Ana Zoo and those present recieved passes good for
(4) people. We also had a preentation regarding our OLD sewer lines in Santa Ana
and the proposed assessment on water usage to cover the cost of repair/replacment
of old and broken lines. Those of us present felt that the proposal was fair and
equitable for both residents and businesses.

We heard about Orange County statistics regarding the average age, the population increase, housing costs (rental and purchasing) increase, expectations for Orange County and an update on the Empowerment Zone, Christmas in April and how it
effects our neighborhood.

We are glad to welcome 5 new members, and we hope to see them at our next meeting. July 12, 2001 @ 6:30 P.M.

The neighborhood Association will be having a Rummage Sale the first weekend in September. If you have salable items you wish to donate, please contact Mary for drop off or pick up. If you you would like to help on the sale days, interpreting, food preparation, setting or clean up, please contact Mary @ 714.543.0177.

Since it is summer, now would be the time for all high school students to become involved in their neighborhood. We are asking all neighborhood students to come to our next meeting. We would like to see you with or without your parents. Our hope is you will take information back to your parents and they will come to the next meeting. Hope to see all of you.

SPECIAL INFORMATION REGARDING FIREWORKS OF ANY KIND.
YOU ONLY LIGHT THEM ON JULY 1, 2,3,AND 4. ALL ROCKETS AND FIREWORKS FROM MEXICO ARE ILLEGAL AND IF YOU ARE CAUGHT USING THEM, YOU WILL BE FINED BY THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OR THE SAPD. SO PLEASE REMEMBER THE 4 DAYS YOU CAN USE THEM, AND ONLY USE THE "SAFE AND SANE" FIREWORKS.
