PTO Meeting Minutes - 3/2/04

PTO Minutes

Crook Games was a success. $334.15 was raised from the bake sale. This contributes to the (2) $1000 college scholarships given to a Braintree HighSchool student who attended East. Thank you Carol Phripp for chairing this event.

The School Advisory postponed their meeting this month.

The PTO agreed to oversee the magazine drive. The monies from this fundraiser are used for field trips, and to help defray the cost of the 8th grade overnighter in Eastover.

A forum to answer questions from prospective middle school parents is being planned. More information to come.

The new clubs are in session and running well.

Rehearsals for the school play are going well. Mr. L is looking for some construction help. The play is in need of a break-away egg , among other things. A props list will come out soon. HONK is a family oriented play. There will be 2 evening performances and 1 matinee. Mr. Glover suggests the matinee is a wonderful opportunity to bring younger children.

March 18th is the "Knight of Culture" event. If you know of a bagpipe player that would like to contribute to the evening, contact Mr. Glover.

Donations were made to the BHS production of the Theatre Guild as well as the BHS All Night Graduation Party.

As always the PTO looks forward to any comments,concerns, recommendations or topics for future meetings.

Our next meeting will be April 6 at 7:00 PM. Among the topics will be representatives from BHS discussing what to expect at the highschool for prospective parents.
