Elder Ford has applied for a zoning varience. As part of this varience they wish to erect an 8 foot wall along Tampa Street, as well as add 2 driveways that will open onto Tampa Street (one right at Marham, one a little further south along the property line). There is a gentleman named Dave in Grid 18 seeking signatures on a petition to present to City Council at the Zoning Hearing on January 17th. We really want to be sure that the resulting increase in traffic through Grid 18, as well as the already-in-existance need to repave Tampa Street due to its poor condition, has been taken into consideration before such a variance is considered. Traffic already backlogs at the Florida Avenue traffic signal; it is doubtful that Elder Ford traffic will be waiting patiently to add to that backlog, so the only way out will be via the neighborhood.
