Digital Storytelling—The History of Smoke Town

 

Calling Meyzeek Middle School Student Participants

 

Calling High School Student Volunteers

 

Calling Adult Supervision Volunteers

 

Calling Smoke Town Residents with Story

 

Calling Sponsors

 

 

Youth will:

Research Smoke Town at the Library (in narrative and image)

Request permission to use images per copywright laws

Learn to formulate questions to stimulate dialogue

Learn to operate a Digital Video Camera

Capture a digital record of individual resident stories—primarily from Dosker Manor

Learn how to weave digital records, narrative, and images into a cohesive presentation

Present will video story to community at a public event

 

ELCM is forming a program teaching Digital Storytelling. Youth from Meyzeek Middle School will interview residents from the historical Smoke Town era to the present to capture the story of what life was like growing up in Smoke Town and how the community has changed over the years.
