MTA Buses - What's up with all this bus traffic on 222nd Street???

Posted in: E 222nd

Fellow 222nd Street Home Owners:

Many year's ago the MTA was barred from operating their fleet of buses on 222nd Street.  The thought was that we wanted to keep our residential streets 'pristine' from this nuisance.

What happened to the hard work that went into effecting this?  Is the MTA running buses illegally through our streets?  I'm sure that we've all heard of 'easement' - i.e.:

1. a right held by one property owner to make use of the land of another for a limited purpose, as right of passage.
2.
an easingrelief.
3.
something that gives easea convenience.
Question:  Are we allowing the City to one day take over our streets to bus traffic without notice because we've given them the opportunity/right to run their buses on 222nd Street?
Does anyone know what area has been taken over by bus routes and what are the restrictions?
I continue to see buses running into 222nd from Boston Road as well as coming North of 222nd Street, many with passengers!
I know for a fact that they should NOT be coming down my block!  A # 2 Shuttle Bus ran through on Saturday evening when I arrived home from an event!
Are we going to allow this?  I hope NOT.
If anyone wants to take this to our council person, let's do this sooner rather than later.
