ANIMAL PROTECTIVE LEAGUE

Desperately need Foster Home Volunteers!!! Please Call !

Dear Friends and neighbors,

I volunteer with the Evergreen Animal Protective League. We are an all volunteer, nonprofit organization that works to care for and find homes for homeless and unwanted pets. We have no facility, all our animals are kept in foster homes to best assess the animal so that the next home will be it's last home. If we do our job well we will find just the right home for each animal. This takes a tremendous amount of effort on the part of many kind and loving people. I personally work with dogs that need homes and foster homes for dogs but there are others who deal with cats, rabbits and most any other kind of pet. We are in desperate need of foster homes for any sort of animal. At this moment, I have two sets of two dogs that really need to be placed together. One set is a pair of female bassett/lab mixes 1 1/2 years old that are in need of a new home--nice dogs, good disposition, grown up with kids. The other set belongs to a man who is blind and on dialysis. His family is moving him to Calif. to an apt. He is heartbroken. I promised him I would find a good home for them where they could stay together. They are supposedly lab mixes but they look like black labs to me. They are mellow dogs but with no training, have never been on a leash. While a fenced yard is not absolutely essential it is most certainly preferable but an electric fence or someone who is home a lot to really train the dogs to stay in the yard. These are just two of many, many stories. We also have two different dogs that have been severely abused and we have been working with a trainer to try to help the dogs adapt to a home where they will be loved and cared for, not beaten. It takes a lot for these animals to learn to trust a human again. If you are interested in any way to help foster a dog or dogs, please call Bette Anne Mayberry, 303-697-6498. If you are interested in fostering any other type of animal or want to adopt any sort of pet, call our central number 303-674-6442. This is also the number to report a lost or found animal. In addition to EAPL you should also call Intermountain Humane to report any lost or found pet
303-838-2668 . I will hope to hear from some of you.
Thanks a lot, Bette Anne
