Please use and support the unique public features of our neighborhood.
Detweiller Marina is at the foot of Caroline St. Besides the marina and boat slips, there is a playground and fishing area. Woodruff Field is at the foot of Grant Street with a large grassy open area and ball diamonds.
Glen Oak Park is at Abington and Perry St. There is a lagoon for fishing, a zoo, and a band shell with free concerts in the summer on Wednesday and Sunday nights and free movies on Thursday nights.
Woodruff High School track and field is open to the neighborhood residents for use on weekends and evenings. The swimming pool is also open to the public during the summer.
The Pimiteoui Trail is a paved bike/walking trail along the riverfront with direct access to the Riverplex and other points throughout central Illinois
Springdale Cemetery is at the end of Perry Street with an abundance of wildlife and natural plants. There are miles of paved roads and sidewalks through the woods and over 200 years of history. Explore it!
Spring Street parks have been improved by the neighborhood volunteers with benches, trash receptacles, lighted flags and flower beds. Please enjoy them. We have also made significant improvements to the Madison/Abington Intersection Island. We always need volunteers to help with the gardens and keeping them clean. If you can help, please do so.
