RTD Information - Rte 72X

Posted in: Apple Meadows Coalition
Effective with the 3 May 1998 changes, another trip will be added to the fast-growing weekday Rte 72X, which serves the Ward Road park-n-Ride. In addition, two morning trips will have their times adjusted for better service.

The new trip will depart Market Street Station's Gate 10 at 5:11 p.m., running to the Ward Road park-n-Ride only It will relieve crowding on the very popular 5:21 p.m. trip.

Inbound trips will depart Ward Road park-n-Ride for Downtown Denver at 6:05a, 6:15a, 6:49a, 7:15a, 7:25a, and 7:53a. Trips will continue to depart the outer terminal on McIntyre at the same times as at present.

Rte 72X serving Northwest suburbs started operation on the same day as Rte 116X serving Southwest suburbs, with similar schedules. In their first year of operation, Rte 116X led in ridership statistics, but beginning this past summeR,Rte 7X began to gain fast

on the leader. We expect that by late Spring, Rte 72X will have passed its statistical rival. As a result, your patronage is appreciated and the additional service is warranted. While

other people are talking about theoretical ways to improve travel in the metro area, your neighborhood is doing it the practical way -- by simply using the service and building up its

ridership one step at a time.
