October 2005 News Letter

Well, we are off to a great start! We have a pretty large Daisy Troop this year and we are going to need parent participation at every meeting. Ms. Kristy is our Troop Co-Leader this year, so if you haven?’t met her please introduce your self and give her a warm welcome to the Troop. Last month we worked on the Light Blue Petal Honest & Fair. This month we will be working on the Orange Petal Responsible for what I say and do. Please talk to your Daisy about the morals of the petals and have them tell you what they mean and how they can use those morals in everyday life. This month we will be focusing on learning the Girl Scout Promise, it?’s a fun thing to sing in the car and in the bath tub. Once they all learn the Promise they will earn their Daisy center and from there they will get the petals they have earned. If you need a copy of the Promise to practice at home let me know and I will get that to you.
This month we have a few things going on

October 9th is the Family Picnic at Camp Hawthorn Hallow. This is fun for the whole family and is important to see it before we book our Free Weekend camp trip there.

October 25th is our Troop Halloween Party where the Daisy?’s come dressed up and pass out treats.

October 29th is the Girl Scout Neighborhood Dance at the High School, from 1-3pm and it?’s $5 per Daisy and that includes pizza, pop, and a patch. The Dead Line for that field trip is October 7th 2005. If you are going to be attending the dance that money and permission slip must be turned it by 10/7/05.

November 2nd there is no school, so that means no meeting either!

Things coming up!
We have an opportunity to see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular in December. This is open to all family members, but if we are going to go, we have to start planning now and collecting money for this trip. The tickets range from $13.50 to $35 all the seats are great and I thing the upper bowl is better for the little one to see.
We also need a guest Dentist to come visit us in November, if anyone knows of someone in the dental profession that could come to a meeting and talk to the Daisy?’s about Hygiene and the importance of taking care of their teeth, that would be Wonderful! Please give me the contact info.
