We live on Barrywood Drive at Timberhill and the back of my yard adjoins the Crieve Hall Elementary School.  Around noon Sunday morning I found my orange kitty dead in the back yard.  From his fatal injury, it appears he was attacked by a large animal.  I have never seen a coyote near the back yard or dogs roaming.  Has anyone seen either this weekend or recently?

We live on Timberdale near Darlington and regularly see fox in our neighborhood.  I regularly walk (early) near your home and have seen many foxes moving about in the early hours.  Not unusual for fox to take down a cat.  I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

Thank you for your reply.  I had read that red foxes didn't usually interact with cats but your sightings make more sense than a coyote or dogs since I have seen neither.  I appreciate your expression of sympathy.  Thanks for being a good neighbor.
